Another principle of the Christian Community Development Association is reconciliation. The Gospel is the foundation upon which MLF and CCDA is built and reconciliation is foundational to the Gospel, namely that we can be reconciled to a holy God since Jesus Christ has died “as us” and made us, who were formerly enemies of God, God’s friends. And because of this, we can be reconciled one to another across racial, socioeconomic, cultural, nationalistic…you name it…..barriers. Paul makes it clear in Galatians 3:28 that in Christ we are all one. The enmity between Jew and Gentile at the time Paul penned this letter was as palpable as the racial divide is today. Followers of Christ, however, have been given the ministry of reconciliation, not only calling people to be reconciled to God but to one another. This is why racism is antithetical to the Gospel and why we as followers of Christ must be at the forefront of racial reconciliation. This is at the heart of MLF’s ministry like it is for CCDA…come join us.
